Winchester built this Model 94 XTR in 1979, serial number 4697909. It is a .30-30 lever action with a 20-inch round barrel and iron sights, dressed in deluxe checkered walnut with its original butt plate. The metal wears a matte blue that was professionally reapplied; a few light handling marks and some patina show under that bluing, and the walnut has light handling marks of its own. The action is smooth and the bore is excellent.

With an excellent bore and a smooth action this is a 94 to carry, not just to admire. The 20-inch barrel keeps it short for still-hunting and for a saddle scabbard, and .30-30 is a deer cartridge. In Utah the 2026 general-season any legal weapon buck deer hunt runs October 17 to 25 on units set by the Division of Wildlife Resources, with permits issued through the spring big-game draw. Confirm unit boundaries and legal ammunition in the current Big Game Field Regulations Guidebook before you take it out.
