Davis County falls in the Ogden general-season deer unit, but most local hunting is waterfowl on the Farmington Bay and Howard Slough management areas. The Forest Service restricts target shooting in the foothills between Ward and Farmington Canyon roads, so read the posted order before you set up.
Farmington Bay Waterfowl Management Area and the Howard Slough unit are minutes from town, which makes this stretch of the bench one of the busiest duck-hunting corners in the state.

Utah has no other state-run ranges, so away from those two most target shooting happens on BLM and national forest ground, where it is allowed if done safely and the area is not posted closed.
