Benelli's LUPO HPR is a bolt-action precision rifle in .300 PRC with a 24-inch heavy-contour, straight-fluted CRIO barrel, threaded 5/8x24 and fitted with a muzzle brake. The bolt carries three large locking lugs for a 60-degree throw, a detachable double-stack magazine gives 4+1, and a one-piece 30 MOA Picatinny rail waits for a scope. It weighs 8.8 pounds, measures 47.5 inches overall, and has an ambidextrous manual safety. Comb height adjusts, and stock spacers move length of pull between 13.75 and 14.75 inches.

Factory five-shot accuracy is rated at 3/4 inch at 100 yards, which is what you want when a bull shows at long range during the October 3 to 16 any-weapon elk hunts or a buck stands off during the October 17 to 25 deer hunt. The recoil management system makes the magnum cartridge easier to shoot well, and the Guidebook lists what ammunition each unit allows.
