This Smith & Wesson M&P9 Shield, serial HKM5827, is a modern-production 9mm with a 3.1-inch barrel. It is a micro-compact striker-fired pistol on a polymer frame with three-dot sights, a manual thumb safety and an Armornite finish. The bore is excellent; the finish shows light marks and the seller rates the overall condition near excellent.
The Shield is a concealed-carry pistol, slim enough for an inside-the-waistband holster and light enough to forget about. The thumb safety on this version suits a Utah shooter who wants a manual control on a striker gun, and the three-dot sights are easy to pick up at speed. With the bore graded excellent, this one has plenty of range life left for the practice a carry gun deserves. Utah needs no permit to purchase and imposes no state waiting period; the dealer's check goes to the Bureau of Criminal Identification, which searches state criminal history and juvenile court records alongside the federal databases, and you must be 21.
