Winchester's SXP Trench is a 12 gauge pump with an 18-inch fully chrome-plated barrel, a fixed cylinder choke and a 3-inch chamber, feeding 5+1. A heat shield covers the barrel, the forearm is ribbed and round, the stock is satin-finished wood with an Inflex recoil pad, and the length of pull is 13 3/4 inches. The alloy receiver is drilled and tapped for a scope base, a brass bead sits up front, and the rotary bolt locks with four lugs. Weight is 7 pounds, length 38.5 inches, with a crossbolt manual safety.

The cylinder choke throws wide buckshot patterns and shoots Foster-type slugs accurately, which is what the gun is for: defense at home, range work and general field duty. The styling comes from police and military shotguns of an earlier era, and Utah owners who want glass can add a scope base to the receiver.
