Smith & Wesson's Model 25 Classic is a six-shot N-frame revolver in .45 Colt with a 6.5-inch barrel, Blue/Black finish and walnut grips. The long barrel stretches the sight radius and brings the weight to 44.7 ounces over 11.5 inches, a combination that settles the gun on target. It fires double action or from a cocked hammer, and 3-dot sights give a clear picture.

At this size the Model 25 is a range and field revolver rather than a carry piece, and the big-bore cartridge in a heavy frame is easy to shoot well. Utah has no permit to purchase and no registration, so the process is simply the dealer visit: photo identification, Form 4473 and the state background check through the Bureau of Criminal Identification before the revolver goes home with you.
