The CZ P-01 is a 9mm Luger pistol featuring a 7075 T6 aluminum frame. It’s a compact design, making it suitable for concealed carry around Salt Lake City, or as a home defense firearm. The decocking lever allows for hammer-down carry, and subsequent shots fire in a crisp single action after the heavier first pull.

Originally designed for law enforcement and military use, the P-01 benefits from manufacturing improvements implemented at the CZ Uhersky Brod factory. These upgrades mean parts are fully interchangeable within the P-01/P-06 series, improving reliability and simplifying maintenance. The integral accessory rail on the dust cover allows for attaching lights or lasers – useful for range work at places like the Salt Lake County Shooting Range, or for home defense.

The CZ P-01 underwent extensive testing, including a U.S. Army evaluation where it averaged only 7 stoppages in 15,000 rounds fired – a .05% failure rate, or a Mean Rounds Between Failure (MRBF) of 2142. This pistol was selected to replace the CZ 75 in service with the Czech National Police after rigorous trials. While earlier models included a NATO Stock Number (NSN) engraving, current production models may not.
